Vineyard
Grown at Clevedon in the Twilight Vineyards on Aucklands southern foothills. It is a gentle hillside slope on ancient weathered volcanic clay loams which overlook the picturesque township of Clevedon and the distant Hunua ranges.
Winemaking
Handpicked, whole-bunches were picked in early April. They were picked early to minimize acid loss and maximize fruit flavour retention. This combined with traditional Alsace winemaking practices has resulted in a well balanced early drinking style of Pinot Gris with a fresher than normal palate.
Viticulture
It is an older vineyard with a warm to temperate coastal climate. Combined with the deep rich soils this results in a wine with a distinctive regional character embodying warm and cool climate characteristics.
Packaging
Sealed under a screw cap to retain the quality and freshness.
